Tom & Mary Ellen Power opened The Cheese Shop in 1971.  It was a small shop but the inventory was top quality: cheese, freshly baked bread, charcuterie and wine.  Soon after opening, they added sandwiches to the menu and Mary Ellen Created her secret recipe for House Dressing!  Now a third generation business, we've proudly served Williamsburg and the Virginia Tidewater region for 50 years.  Some say our sandwiches have sustained William & Mary students for decades, and most will agree that it's the House Dressing that brings them back.  We're pleased to offer you our original family recipe and are grateful for your business!
